GETTING STARTED

Eligibility
First, find out if you qualify for the program by reviewing our program eligibility.

Application
Once you’ve established your eligibility, you’re ready to apply. APPLY NOW and follow the instructions in the online application form carefully.

Acceptance and Pay Program Fee
If we accept your application, we’ll send you an email confirming your acceptance. The email will include important dates such as when you will receive your invoice, when the invoice payment is due, and the maximum amount you could pay if you are part of an institutional cohort. AFTER you receive your invoice and submit payment, you will receive your Letter of Acceptance (LoA). Carefully review the information in the Letter of Acceptance and inform us straight away at summerprograms.cpe@ubc.ca if anything is incorrect.

Travel Documents
Find out what kind of travel documents you will need to enter Canada and make an application for one as soon as you receive your Letter of Acceptance, as processing time may take longer than you expect.

Flight, Accommodation and Residence (FAR) form
We will send you a Flight, Accommodation, and Residence form after receiving your program fee payment. Submit your completed form with all information on flights and rooming preferences filled in.

Health Insurance
We provide health insurance coverage to all participants in the ICG-EW Summer program at UBC. Be sure to print or keep a copy of your iMED card on your phone in preparation for your visit.

Program Consent Waivers
Complete and submit your ICG-EW Consent Package.

Orientation
A UBC CWL (Campus-wide Login) account will be created for you to access the ICG-EW online orientation course. You are expected to complete the course before arriving in the Okanagan. Your UBC Faculty will also send you specific information about your enrolled course package.

Enjoy ICG-EW
Arrive in the Okanagan and settle down in your residence. attend the in-person faculty orientation and ICG-EW welcome event on the first Monday. Engage in the academic program and extra-curricular activities offered during the program. Make new friends from around the world. Explore the Okanagan and Canada during its best season… and have an unforgettable summer!
ELIGIBILITY

Academic
Must be a full-time student at a post-secondary institution.

Age
Must be at least 19 years of age on the first day of the program.

Language Proficiency
Must submit an applicable UBC language proficiency test score or pass a spoken interview test via Zoom.
